A new study released on 27 January 2026 ranks Cluj‑Napoca as the Romanian city with the highest objective quality‑of‑life index, based on data from Google Traffic, Google Places, Airly and the Storia platform. The top five objective scores are: Cluj‑Napoca 44.5, Brașov 41.4, Constanța 39.6, Sibiu 39.3 and Craiova 38.7. In a separate subjective ranking that surveys residents’ satisfaction, Cluj‑Napoca falls to fifth place. The study notes that Sibiu is the best city for residents when the population size is taken into account. The report was authored by Rami Cristescu and was published by Cotidianul.
