The National Meteorological Administration issued an orange alert for heavy rain, hail and blowing snow in six Romanian counties - Mehedinți, Gorj, Vâlcea, Argeș, Dâmbovița and Prahova - valid Monday 10:00 to Tuesday 20:00. Expected rainfall may reach 80 litres per square metre, while at elevations above 1,700 metres snow may accumulate 30‑40 centimetres and wind gusts could exceed 100 kilometres per hour, producing drifting snow and visibility below 50 metres. The warning is intended to warn of flooding, road hazards and reduced visibility for motorists. Additional yellow‑code alerts cover significant precipitation in the southern Banat, northern Oltenia and Muntenia, and mixed precipitation in the mountainous areas of Hunedoara, Alba, Sibiu, Brașov, Covasna and Vrancea. Bucharest will experience a temperature rise during the day.
