Seven supporters of Greek football club PAOK died in a serious bus accident near Lugoj, Romania, on 27 January 2026. The microbus carrying fans from Thessaloniki, with a capacity of 8+1, collided with a truck during a lane change. Six died at the scene, while a seventh succumbed on the way to the hospital. PAOK president Ivan Savvidis released a condolence message expressing deep sorrow and solidarity with families. Coach Răzvan Lucescu also mourned the loss. The tragedy has shocked the football community.
