Romanian 23‑year‑old boy accused of killing and burning his mother in France is awaiting extradition, but the judge has postponed the transfer. The defendant was arrested in Cluj two months after being charged in France. The court ruled that he may be represented by a French lawyer and has delayed the extradition to 5 February. He again refused to consent to the handover. The prosecutor asked for an explanation, while his lawyer invoked the right to double representation and demanded a French attorney. The lawyer also asked for guarantees that if he is convicted in France he will be transferred to Romania to serve his sentence, and requested the court issue a letter to French authorities to determine the prison and conditions of detention.
