THE 104-YEAR-OLD RECALLS HARSH WORK, TUNNELS UNDER THE GROUND, AND BEING THRASHED WHEN HE FAILED TO MEET QUOTAS. HE STANDS AS A SYMBOL OF PATRIOTISM, urging young Romanians to love their country.
