Romanian Patriarchate to proclaim canonization of 16 women on 6 February. The Holy Synod approved the canonization of 16 women with holy lives - martyrs, monastics, wives of rulers, mothers of saints and witnesses - last year. The general proclamation ceremony will be officiated by Patriarch Daniel at the Patriarchal Cathedral in Bucharest. On 5 February at 17:00 the final commemorative service will be held after Vespers. On 6 February the program begins at 7:45 with a procession carrying the relics of Saint Cuvios Dimitrie the New, Saints Emperor Constantine and Empress Helena, Saint Hierarch Nectarie, and Great Martyr Catherine to the Baldachin of the Saints for pilgrims’ veneration. The Patriarchate is preparing the event to facilitate access for pilgrims.
