Deputy Marilen Pirtea, a PNL member and rector of the West University of Timișoara, clarified publicly that the house where he resides does not appear in his asset declaration because it is not his property. He explained that a legal purchase‑sale agreement is in place and that the property will only be listed once ownership is transferred. On 24 January the house was broken into, prompting a police investigation. Pirtea said the break‑in was used to fuel unfounded suspicions and stressed that the situation is fully legal and verifiable. The incident has drawn attention to the MP’s disclosures and the status of the property.
