Romanian man arrested after attempting to steal a train in Austria. The 37‑year‑old entered the locomotive of a stationary inter‑regional train, broke the windows with a hammer and tried to start the engine but failed. When Austrian authorities arrived he became aggressive, struck a policewoman and inflicted several wounds. Three officers had to restrain him before he was taken into custody. Investigators are probing his motives. Passengers on the train were unharmed and no further incidents were reported.
