Romanian gendarmerie imposed a total of 38,000 lei in fines after the Union Day rallies in Iași and Focșani. In Iași, 28,000 lei were collected from 15 individuals for offences such as provocation, disorder, and use of dangerous objects. The fines included a 1,000‑lei penalty for a Bucharest resident who provoked a scandal and a 10,000‑lei fine for organising an unlawful public gathering. Additional sanctions of 27,000 lei were issued on January 25 for multiple violations. In Focșani, 9,000 lei were fined to eight people accused of instigating disorder, and a 1,000‑lei fine was imposed for unlawful entry. The gendarmerie continues to review footage to identify further offenders. President Nicuşor Dan attended the events in both cities.
