Romania will increase the daily food allowance for vulnerable persons in 2026 from 22 to 32 lei per day. The change, announced by Minister Petre‑Florin Manole, is part of a broader effort to address rising living costs and improve nutrition for children in protection centres, adults with disabilities, elderly in care units and other groups supported by social services. The Ministry of Labour, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity will also boost overall funding for social service centres to ensure better meals and decent conditions.
