Romania plans to install 400 radar cameras on its highways and major roads, with the bidding process set to conclude by the beginning of March. The cameras, part of the e‑Secure project, will monitor vehicle speed in real time, capture data on vehicle registration, inspection status, toll compliance, and detect stolen or police‑tracked cars. They will also calculate average speeds on unmonitored stretches. The program has a 22‑month completion deadline from the time of approval.
