Romania - Defence Minister Radu Miruță announced at a press conference that the country has secured €9.53 billion in funding under the European SAFE programme for 21 defence projects. The package includes 10 joint purchases with other EU states - notably France and Germany - covering Mistral missiles, H225 helicopters, radars and air‑defence systems. The deal is said to revitalize the domestic defence industry and accelerate local production of advanced military technology. Romania will receive €16.68 billion from SAFE, the second‑largest allocation among EU members.
