Romanian authorities warn drivers on mountain roads that rockfalls pose a serious danger. The National Authority for Road Safety (CNAIR) says freeze‑thaw cycles have weakened slopes, causing stones to break loose and fall onto the carriageway. Drivers are urged to avoid stopping near the mountains, to keep a safe following distance and to reduce speed. DRDP Craiova teams constantly monitor high‑risk areas and intervene as needed to maintain traffic safety.
