Adrian Câciu, a deputy of the Social Democratic Party, said that the idea of calling early elections is just as likely as forming a minority government after Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan spoke about the possibility of governing without a clear majority. Câciu stressed that the current coalition would continue even if the Bolojan government fell, pointing out that PSD holds more than 30 % of seats in Parliament. He warned that a minority cabinet would undermine the will of the people and that if the pro‑European parties USR, UDMR and PNL refused to join a PSD‑led government, early elections would be a realistic option. Bolojan, for his part, said he does not consider a minority government a working hypothesis, though he remains open to the idea. Câciu criticised the prime minister’s remarks as defensive and politically aberrant, noting that the coalition’s future is secure despite potential leadership changes.
