Adrian Câciu, a deputy of the Social Democratic Party, said that the idea of calling early elections is just as likely as forming a minority government after Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan spoke about the possibility of governing without a clear majority. Câciu stressed that the current coalition would continue even if the Bolojan government fell, pointing out that PSD holds more than 30 % of seats in Parliament. He warned that a minority cabinet would undermine the will of the people and that if the pro‑European parties USR, UDMR and PNL refused to join a PSD‑led government, early elections would be a realistic option. Bolojan, for his part, said he does not consider a minority government a working hypothesis, though he remains open to the idea.
