Prime minister Ilie Bolojan told RFI that introducing a progressive tax in Romania would require at least one year of technical preparation and that the country is not yet ready to implement the measure. He said the proposal had not been discussed in recent months by the governing coalition, though some parties still publicly support it. Bolojan also warned about political tensions within the coalition and said that scandals bring no benefit to any governing party. He added that correcting injustices and tightening fiscal measures would ultimately benefit the country.
