Pornhub will no longer allow new users from the United Kingdom to register on its site from 2 February, citing the impact of the Online Safety Act’s mandatory age‑verification system introduced in July 2025. The Cyprus‑based operator, Aylo, said its porn sites - including Pornhub, YouPorn and RedTube - will restrict access to already verified accounts only. The company warned that the age‑check framework has led to a 77 % drop in UK traffic and has pushed users toward unregulated sites, potentially exposing them to illegal content. Ofcom, the UK communications regulator, defended the law, noting widespread adoption of age checks across the top 100 porn services and its commitment to enforce the rules. Pornhub’s vice‑president Alex Kekesi said the policy “is not possible, circumvention is rampant, privacy is compromised” and that the site is withdrawing from the “failed system” created by the OSA.
