Mircea Lucescu, 80, was discharged from hospital after recovering from a heart rhythm issue and a severe flu that left him with a fever over 39 degrees. The Romanian national football coach, who has been monitoring the health of the team, plans to travel abroad for a full set of medical investigations. He has not yet visited the Romanian squad in Antalya and is preparing for the playoff match against Turkey in Istanbul, which will decide qualification for the 2026 World Cup. If successful, Romania will face Slovakia-Kosovo in the final playoff and then compete in Group D of the tournament against the United States, Australia and Paraguay.
