Lightning struck a crowd gathered outside a plaza in Brasilia on Sunday during a pro‑Bolsonaro rally. At least 30 people were injured and eight were in serious condition. Firefighters reported that 72 people received first‑aid on the scene, 30 were taken to two nearby hospitals. Bolsonaro, the former president who is serving a 27‑year sentence for an attempted coup, remains in a penitentiary on the outskirts of the city.
