About 300 pupils and 25 teachers, plus 16 workers, were evacuated from the George Barițiu Technical School in Baia Mare after staff reported a smell of gas. Fire, medical and CBRN teams, together with crews from the gas supplier, were dispatched at 08:00 h. The evacuation was completed before the school could be re‑entered for inspection. The incident has not caused any injuries, but the authorities are investigating the source of the leak.
