Slovak premier Robert Fico denied claims that he commented on US President Donald Trump’s mental state and that he had an informal meeting with Trump at the European Union summit in Brussels, according to a post on X. He accused the American outlet Politico of trying to destroy Slovakia’s constructive relations with the world. Fico said he did not speak at the summit, that no one witnessed any discussion, and that he had no informal talk with Trump. He criticised Politico for spreading falsehoods and called the outlet “detestabil” and “pro‑Brussels.” He added that he supports many of Trump’s policies but not all, and that he was disappointed by the lack of criticism of his stance on Venezuela. The premier also highlighted the importance of Slovakia’s nuclear diversification programme and cooperation with the United States.
