Environment Minister Diana Buzoianu announced on Monday that inspectors from the Forest Guard in Oradea will conduct random checks on the inspections already carried out in Băile Felix, where illegal tree cutting has been reported. The ministry said new irregularities were found during the recent reviews, prompting a review to verify whether the cuts were carried out correctly. The action follows a directive from the Bihor Forestry Directorate allowing removal of old or damaged trees, but the minister stressed that any unlawful activity will be investigated thoroughly. The checks aim to ensure compliance with Romanian environmental law and protect the local forest ecosystem in Băile Felix.
