Bucharest City Council will meet on 29 January to decide whether to demolish the fence that surrounds the Palace of the Parliament. The proposed urban regeneration plan seeks to transform the former Uranus district, create open public spaces, improve pedestrian circulation and connect the northern and southern parts of central Bucharest, especially the Rahova-Uranus corridor. Implementation will require a protocol between Capital City Hall, the Romanian Government, the Chamber of Deputies, the Senate, Metrorex and the Romanian Patriarchate. The decision could ease traffic and make the area more accessible for residents.
