Bucharest municipal council will debate a proposal to demolish the fence surrounding the Palace of Parliament on Thursday, 29 January 2026. The plan, part of an urban regeneration scheme for the Arsenalului - Uranus area, aims to create more spacious public areas, improve traffic flow in the city centre, and develop connected recreational zones. The proposal includes pedestrian promenades, green space restoration, and a multi‑institutional protocol involving the General City Hall, the Chamber of Deputies, the Senate, and Metrorex. A vote on the project will take place during the council meeting.
