AUR tops the latest opinion poll with 35 % voter intent for the upcoming parliamentary elections, keeping it in the lead ahead of PSD (23 %) and PNL (18 %). The study, conducted by CURS in January 2026, also shows a sharp decline in public confidence in political leaders, with over 70 % distrust for Ilie Bolojan and Sorin Grindeanu. Institutional trust remains split: the army, church and firefighters enjoy high confidence, whereas the parliament and judiciary are viewed negatively by 75 % of respondents. Economic expectations for 2026 are largely pessimistic, with 63 % of Romanians predicting a decline in living standards and 56 % foreseeing significant price rises. A majority (56 %) would support a referendum on uniting with Moldova, though 37 % oppose it. The poll underscores a fragmented political landscape and widespread public discontent.
