ASF salary cuts reflect Bolojan’s reforms The Romanian Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF) announced that, after the government’s Bolojan reforms, the average salary has fallen to 9,500 lei, with a manager earning 43,991 lei. The agency said that 38 employees were made redundant, a reduction of 75 posts from a total of 544, meaning 13.7% of positions were eliminated. ASF stated the cuts are part of a structural adjustment to maintain the authority’s high‑complexity role in ensuring the stability of non‑bank financial markets. The agency warned that losing specialised staff erodes expertise that cannot be quickly replaced. The reforms were enacted on 1 January 2026, following the law passed by the Bolojan government.
